May 31, 2012 – Marietta, Ga. - A driver died in the hospital after driving a pickup truck into a building near an intersection on Tuesday, May 29.

Fox 5 News indicates that the crash happened Tuesday night at the intersection of Roswell Road and Powers Ferry Road. Police said that the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck might have suffered a medical emergency while waiting at a red light. The truck then drove over the curb and crashed into a building.

The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive immediate medical care but was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officials said that there were no people in the building at the time of the accident. No one else was injured in this crash.

The incident is under the stages of investigation by officials in the area.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2010 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,244 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
