May 25, 2012 – DeKalb County, Ga. – A two-vehicle car accident left at least one person dead on Thursday, May 24.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the accident happened just after 12 p.m. on Interstate 85, just north of Clairmont Road. Officials with the Georgia Department of Highways said that two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of the interstate. One of the vehicles flipped on impact.
At least one person was killed in the accident. Exactly how many people were involved in the crash is unclear.
The incident caused all of the interstate’s southbound lanes to be closed for about three hours.
The car accident is under ongoing investigation by local authorities who were called to the scene.
