November 14, 2011 - Gwinnett County, Ga. - After a car crashed into a lake, 2 people were sent to the hospital on Friday, November 11.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
reports that the accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Richland Parkway and Prosperity way. The vehicle was driving on Richland Parkway when its driver lost control due to a medical condition. The vehicle then rolled several times and landed in Deer Lake.

Reports indicate that 3 people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident. All 3 victims were able to escape the vehicle and get out of the water before emergency response crews arrived on the scene.

Out of the vehicle's occupants, 2 had to be transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment. Officials said that their injuries didn't appear to be serious; however, it was very cold at the time of the accident and the victims could be suffering health conditions due to the cold.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
