April 20, 2012 – Forsyth County, Ga. – A person died and another was wounded in a head-on crash during the late afternoon on Sunday, April 15.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the incident happened at about 4 p.m. on Ga. 369, just west of Dr. Bramblett Road. Reports indicate that 2 vehicles collided head-on on the roadway. Further details of how the accident occurred are not yet available.

Forsyth Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said that a person suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The victim was confirmed dead on the scene. Another person had to be flown to Atlanta Medical Center to be medically treated for unknown injuries.

The names of those involved in the accident have not yet been revealed to the public.

The accident is under ongoing investigation by authorities in Forsyth County.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
