March 5, 2012 – Clayton County, Ga. – A man is in critical condition after being struck by a hit and run driver late Thursday, March 1.

reports that the accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 138 and Roundtree Road. Quentin Watts, 21, of Clayton County, was found injured in a ditch near his home.

Witnesses said that Watts was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle stopped for a short time but then fled after hitting Watts.
 
Watts was rushed to the ICU at Atlanta Medical Hospital for treatment. He suffered a broken leg as well as deep cuts on his upper body. He’s unable to breathe without assistance.

Family members said that Watts has a passion for music. They fear that he won’t be able to play again after the accident.

Police are still searching for the driver that struck Watts. Anyone who saw the accident or has any relevant information has been asked to contact the Clayton County Police.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
