December 1, 2011 – Gwinnett County, Ga. – A man was fatally injured and 2 more people were injured in an accident on Wednesday, November 30.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at the intersection ofDickens Road andDundee Drive, near Lilburn. The man veered off into the opposite lanes and crashed into an oncoming pickup truck.
The man suffered fatal injuries in the accident and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports indicate that 2 more people had to be taken to a local hospital immediately following the accident. Officials said that both people suffered non-life threatening injuries.
There has been no word on whether or not charges will be filed in connection with this accident. The cause of the accident remains unknown as it is still under the stages of investigation by local officials.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
