February 9, 2012 – Atlanta, Ga. – A person was trapped in a vehicle that rolled over on Interstate 85 on Wednesday, February 8.

My Fox Atlanta
reports that the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the interstate, near Hamilton Mill Road. According to officials with the Gwinnett County Police Department, the vehicle’s driver lost control on the roadway, which caused the vehicle to overturn and land in the median.

Reports indicate that rescue workers had to free at least one person from the vehicle following the crash. That person’s medical condition is unknown at this time.

The names of those involved in the accident have not been revealed to the public yet. The root of the crash remains to be resolved. The accident is in the stages of investigation by authorities.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
