December 16, 2011 – Alpharetta, Ga. – A Georgia utility worker was taken to the hospital after falling 20 feet from his utility truck bucket after a collision on Friday, December 9.

WSBTV states that the utility worker, whose name hasn’t been released, was parked near the intersection of Haynes Bridge Road and Old Milton Parkway around 9 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by a passing garbage truck.

The incident resulted in the worker falling 20 feet, which landed him in a nearby hospital to receive medical assistance for broken bones. He is expected to recover.

The driver of the garbage truck, which was towing a trailer at the time, called police the next morning to report the accident. He said he did not realize he had collided with the utility truck until he saw the damage on his own vehicle.

Reports do not indicate if charges have been filed.
