March 22, 2012 – Fulton County, Ga. – A 2-vehicle car crash left at least one person injured on Wednesday, March 21.

My Fox Atlanta
reports that the accident occurred just before 12 p.m. on Interstate 20, near Moreland Avenue. Reports indicate that 2 vehicles collided in the westbound lanes. Officials with the Georgia State Patrol said that one of the vehicles involved rolled during the collision. Photographs of the scene showed the vehicle upside-down on the median.

At least one victim was injured as a result of the crash. That person was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. The identities of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.

Emergency crews were forced to close several of the westbound lanes on the interstate while the scene was cleared. The cause of the crash remains to be determined. The crash is under ongoing investigation by authorities in the Fulton County area.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
