March 15, 2012 – Dunwoody, Ga. – A woman is speaking out for justice after an accident, with an SUV, left her injured and without a driver to compensate her damages.

WSBTV.com
reports that Nita Thakor, an optometrist at the Macy’s department store in the Perimeter Mall, was struck by an unknown driver as she was leaving work on Wednesday, February 22. The accident was so abrupt it actually knocked her shoes off and resulted in serious bruises to her thigh and foot as well as a broken collar bone.

Thakor says that her foot was stuck between the tire and the road when the driver paused for 5-10 seconds as she screamed for the driver to get off her trapped leg. Once Thakor was freed, the driver kept driving onto Ashford-Dunwoody Roadand never returned to the scene.

Police are still looking for a dark beige or copper colored SUV, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet model. Witnesses are still being questioned in relation to the accident. Meanwhile, Thakor continues to recover from her injuries and hope that the responsible driver is identified.
