March 19, 2012 – Fulton County, Ga. – A woman received fatal injuries when her vehicle crashed on Saturday morning, March 17.

A news story on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution indicated that the accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Interstate 20, near Hamilton E Holmes Drive. Atlanta Police spokesperson John Chafee said that a Dodge Charger was driving along the interstate when its driver lost control behind the wheel, which caused it to veer off of the roadway and crash into a barrier wall.

The driver, Linda Lagrone, 46, ofAtlanta, was thrown from the vehicle on impact. Lagrone was confirmed dead at the scene. Her body was sent to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation.

Reports indicate that no other vehicles were involved in the accident and there were no other passengers in Lagrone’s vehicle. No additional injuries or fatalities have been brought forth.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2009 Georgia Crash Statistics, there were 1,284 fatalities as a result of car accidents in Georgia.
