October 12, 2011 - Doraville, Ga. - A police officer from Doraville was arrested after a DUI accident involving 2 vehicles on Saturday, October 8.
WSBTV reports that the accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. on Memorial Drive, close to Rockbridge Road. Officer Kasey Lindsey was driving on the roadway when, according to Lindsey, he dozed off while behind the wheel. His vehicle then crashed into the rear of another car.
When police arrived on the scene, Lindsey admitted that he had consumed alcohol earlier that day at Shooter Alley, a local strip club. Officers said that Lindsey was given a field sobriety test, as he continually lost his balance; however, 7 seconds into the test, Lindsey gave up counting and put his arms behind his back.
Lindsey's blood alcohol content was tested over an hour later, which at that time was 0.151.
While he's been suspended with pay, other charges leveled against Lindsey include:
- following too closely;
- DUI;
- no proof of insurance; and
- driving with invalid registration.
